Acácio Augusto presents a public talk entitled Anarchy in Brazil: Revolt and Anti-politics of Nations’ ‘Undesirable Foreigners’: "Anarchy arrives in Brazil with immigrant European laborers and its proponents are quickly branded undesirables whose libertarian practices and experiments stoke revolt and foment anti-political sentiment. Libertarian culture is alive and well and continues to spread today, through research, educational practices, lifestyles and novel forms of public protest. To the varied forms of contemporary politics these practices remain as undesirable now as ever.”

Acácio Augusto holds a doctorate in the Social Sciences from PUC-SP, lectures on the Political Sociology Post-graduate course at UVV-ES and on the Institutional Psychology Program at UFES. He is also a researcher with Nu-Sol (Literary Sustainability Centre, PUC-SP Post-graduate Program) and a Post-doctoral CAPES Fellow at UVV-ES. He is the author of Política e polícia: Cuidados, controles e penalizações de jovens (Rio de Janeiro: Lamparina, 2013).
